When artists inspire artists !
When an artist inspires an artist.
Façade of Satguru Shlok is an outstanding example of design based on avant-garde art of cubism. This design style reflects works of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian ( 1872-1944) who created a geometrical abstract style known as neoplasticism, which has widespread influence on modern painting, architecture, and design.
The façade of this building is used as a canvas that expresses Piet’s iconic work. Piet’s inspired artwork is on the flanges of the building that resembles bookmarks.
Striking feature of the pattern on the flanges is that it is one single repeat in length of 140 feet tall building wall. The pattern comprises of various rectangles formed by the basic vertical and horizontal groove lines. These clean lines in gigantic proportions represent the two essential opposing forces of nature – the positive & the negative, the dynamic & the static, the masculine & the feminine. The dynamic balance of this composition reflects what Piet saw as the universal balance of these forces.
