Rebalancing Ecology at the Water’s Edge.
Rebalancing Ecology at the Water’s Edge
The Bodi lake rejuvenation and lakefront development project aims to restore the ecological health of the water body while creating an accessible and vibrant public space. The proposal focuses on improving water quality through desilting, bio-remediation, constructed wetlands, and native vegetation, while stabilizing the lake edge with natural landscape solutions. A continuous lakefront promenade with shaded pathways, seating areas, and viewing decks reconnects people with the water and encourages recreation and community interaction. Sustainable strategies such as permeable paving, rainwater harvesting, solar lighting, and low-maintenance planting are integrated to ensure long-term resilience. The project reimagines the lake as a vital ecological asset and a social commons, enhancing environmental balance and urban livability.
